Late Night Visit
Open to

[A continuation of this long text message convo.]
[As promised, Seifer kept his dorm room front door unlocked. He sat in the small kitchen and, as he mentioned before, he was studying. Books laid out and one glance at the table would make it obvious he's studying with all the note-taking he's doing. Huh, who knew he could be studious if he really wanted to be. He hit the send button to send one last message to Zell before putting his phone down taking the last bit of notes he wanted to remember for the exam tomorrow. He figured he could look these over in the morning before the exam itself. This was easy street anyway so Seifer was confident he'd pass it.
He then looked at the front door and give it a squinty-eyed look for a moment. He shook his head before he said in a normal tone of voice.]
I told you the door's unlocked. Open it. Don't make me call you chicken wuss.
[And with that, he grinned. He figured he'd get Zell's attention that way.]

[Zell then proceeded to give Seifer a cocky grin and take another big bite.]
It’s! Good!
no subject
[He watched Zell take that big bite. He had never seen anyone eat a hot dog like this so it was kind of amusing for him to watch. But he was glad that Zell was enjoying himself and not thinking about his injuries.]
no subject
It’s been a while. I should have lunch with her soon. …Maybe after my injuries are healed up.
no subject
That's probably a good idea. The only reason why I mentioned it was because when I was there earlier today, everyone seems to know her. Even the guy who barbecues the hot dogs in town does.
And maybe your commander should put you on light duty until you're at one hundred percent. What do you think he'll have you do after the two days are up?
no subject
I don’t know. Depends on how big of a mess everything is still. Is there another hot dog?
no subject
Leave it to you to thinking about hot dogs in the middle of a conversation involving your commander. What does one do with that...? [He gave an aired chuckle at that.] Figured you'd want at least two considering how hungry you must have been. But considering what's happened, everything does seem like a big mess. You probably haven't even reported back to him, have you.
no subject
And I did report to him while I was in the hospital. I gave my full report about what happened. And I don’t think Squall as my commander. I see him as my friend.
no subject
Oh good. At least that's out of the way. And of course you see him as a friend. You see a lot of people that way, don't you? Hells, you're being friendly with me even though you shouldn't. All started with a pic of a 'no more hotdogs' sign, eh?
[He kept his smirk at Zell as he stood up and placed his empty container and plastic fork back in the brown paper bag and threw it away in whatever trash can was in this dorm. Maybe in the kitchen? Either way, he'd go back on the bed with Zell.]
So what do you think? Are these barbecued hot dogs better than the ones here in the cafeteria? I imagine it so but I figured I'd ask the expert.
no subject
And why shouldn’t I be friendly with you? I like you. Idiot.
[Zell paused then as he looked at the hotdog for a moment before taking another bite and shaking his head.] Cafeteria is better but these are a very close second.
no subject
[Seifer then moved next to the tattooed blond and leaned against the headboard of the bed, should there be one.]
Well, a looooot of other people would tell you not to be. Friendly, I mean. At the very least. I mean... do you know what happened when I showed myself back in here? Stares for miles. Not the good kind, either. But ya know, I couldn't do much else. Nowhere else to go. It sucked, sure. So I told them to go to hell before I served them detention. [Seifer smirked at that.]
They believed me and they dispersed real quick.
no subject
[As Seifer shifted against the headboard Zell happily leaned against the older male as they talked and bantered.]
So? There are only certain people’s opinions that I care about and the majority of the Garden is not one of them. I’ll be friendly to who I like. And I’ll give them a second chance.
no subject
[Once Zell leaned up against the older blond, Seifer wrapped an arm around him, careful that he didn't make him uncomfortable with his present injuries.]
Heh, give them a second chance? Even if they didn't exactly ask for one? Is there some unspoken rule I should know about?
no subject
[Zell finished his hotdog and just allowed himself to relax against Seifer. The relaxation didn’t last too long because his body ached. He knew he should take the pills but the tattoo blonde was stubborn.]
Thank you for the hot dogs. They have made me feel better.
no subject
Well good. That was the whole point. But now that you have food in you, might wanna take your painkillers. I hate taking medication but if it makes the pain go away, I'll do it. If you're not already in pain now, you will be soon. [He clearly remembered the pain that was inflicted upon him a little over a year ago, thanks to Squall.]
no subject
[Seifer was definitely right about the medication but Zell was stubborn and thought he could handle it. Though when Seifer mentioned having to take some that caught the tattoo blonde’s attention.
He carefully shifted, turning, and he brought a hand up to gently run a finger over the scar on Seifer’s face.]
I never got to ask… you and him gave these to each other in the same fight? [Because one day the wound hadn’t been there and the next there had been bandages and now a scar.]
no subject
[Then came the question and the subsequent hand that was reaching up to his face. Seifer couldn't help but close his eyes at the touch, and even at the more slightly sensitive scar that was now in-between his eyes on his forehead.]
Yep, same fight. I gave him a scar first. I got cocky, as I usually do, and stood in glory with my dirty work and he gave me one when I wasn't looking. Guess you could say I deserved it. [Seifer smirked at that. He didn't mind having a scar, though. It sort of helps identify who he is.] It's bullshit but eh, what can you do. Battle scars and what not. Now you have some, too.
no subject
Ah. You let your ego get the better of you. You both are lucky that you are skilled gunblade wielders or you wouldn’t be here.
[Zell ran his finger over the scar once more, slowly, before leaning up and giving the scar a soft kiss right where it passed over Seifer’s nose.]
no subject
I mean someone said it. I have the biggest ego in all of Garden. Was that Xu that said it? Yeah, it's probably her.
[Instinctively, Seifer placed a hand on the back of Zell's hair as he kissed the scar softly. Afterwards, he gently shook his head in response to Squall.]
Wait... So he didn't even ask if you were okay or what happened..? I thought it was a commander's job to check up on his subordinates to see how they're doing. I mean, you two consider each other friends, right? If nothing else, he'd have asked you how you were doing as a friend, not as a subordinate.
[To Seifer's non-surprise, Squall didn't do any of that. Shame on him.]
Do I need to give him an earful the next time I see him..?
no subject
[Zell settled his head in the crook of Seifer’s neck, getting comfortable against the older blonde and proceeded to ignore the pain his body was in.]
This is Squall you are talking about. He doesn’t use his words. He saw that I was okay so he didn’t need to ask. And no I don’t need you to give him an earful. He already has enough on his plate.
no subject
[As Zell got comfortable nuzzling himself into Seifer, the older blond wrapped his other arm around him, making sure he was careful that he didn't hurt him.]
Yeah, I know this is Squall we're talking about. I figured he'd have done some growing up after everything that happened in the past Hyne damned year...
[To that, Seifer just shook his head. Squall was stubborn and was probably stuck in his own ways for now.]
What about the others? Did they at least come visit you? The messenger girl? The lecherous cowboy? The instructor?
no subject
It’s no big deal, Seifer. I got you don’t I?
no subject
[Seifer shook his head again, trying not to even think about it. He gently pulled Zell in further.]
I mean I guess you do since I'm right here. Doesn't seem right that you don't got the others, though. I don't know. Don't mind me, I'm just a little upset, I guess.
no subject
[Zell happily moved further into Seifer’s lap. He turned and placed his legs across the older male’s lap as they basically snuggled and talked in Zell’s bed. It made the injured blonde feel better.]
You are getting upset on my behalf? You are a big softie aren’t you?
no subject
Alright alright, whatever you say.
[He shifted a little bit to get more comfortable while Zell moved to snuggle up against him.]
I suppose I am. You're special enough to see this side of me that no one else actually has. Huh. I guess this is what happens when you give a shit.
no subject
But I like it. I like you. You big jerk.
