[A continuation of this long text message convo.]

[As promised, Seifer kept his dorm room front door unlocked. He sat in the small kitchen and, as he mentioned before, he was studying. Books laid out and one glance at the table would make it obvious he's studying with all the note-taking he's doing. Huh, who knew he could be studious if he really wanted to be. He hit the send button to send one last message to Zell before putting his phone down taking the last bit of notes he wanted to remember for the exam tomorrow. He figured he could look these over in the morning before the exam itself. This was easy street anyway so Seifer was confident he'd pass it.

He then looked at the front door and give it a squinty-eyed look for a moment. He shook his head before he said in a normal tone of voice.]

I told you the door's unlocked. Open it. Don't make me call you chicken wuss.

[And with that, he grinned. He figured he'd get Zell's attention that way.]

I think the doctor wants to check on how I’m healing before they will release me. And ya the only way they will release me is if I behave and stay in bed until they tell me I can do more.

[At Zell's request, Seifer gave a gentle shrug. He wasn't sure if he could keep that promise for now.] We'll see. You at least admitted you fucked up.

Yeah, that's what I figured. Should I go pick up food before the sun sets? I'll have to go into town to get the sausages.

[Seifer stood up from the chair even though he was still holding Zell's hand.]

I fucked up. Big time.

[Zell didn’t let go of Seifer’s hand when the older male stood up. He held onto his hand even though he knew Seifer should go.] If it is too much work we could just have noodles. [Everyone had cheap ramen noodles in their dorms.]

As long as you don't make a habit out of it, I guess that's fine. Let's be honest here, I would have probably done the same thing: do the thing on my own given the chance. Heh.

[Seifer shook his head, not even realizing that he had been gently squeezing the Zell's hand. He does so again.]

Are you sure? I mean, I have nothing better to do. Sure I might take a bit longer but if you want noodles, I have spicy ones back at my place. The ones that come in those bowl-sized containers.

Hmmm. So I should ask myself next time what will Seifer do?

[Zell squeezed back still not letting go of Seifer’s hand.]

I just don’t want you to go out of your way. I’d be happy with any that isn’t hospital food… though I do love the chocolate pudding here.

Hahah. Funny, but no. [Another hand squeeze here. This time, Seifer actually looks down at their held hands but does nothing about it for now.]

Well, alright. If you wait here for about fifteen, I can be back with some noodles. I figure you could use the junk food after what you just went through. [He'd once again look at their held hands before looking up at the tattooed blond.]

I'd have to let go, though. [Seifer smirks a little here.]

No. [Zell shook his head and he gave Seifer’s hand a squeeze.] And don’t go rushing off for food. I’ll be out soon, hopefully, and we can eat it together in my apartment.

Fine fine. [Seifer answered with a small grin on his face. He looked out the window and found that sun was setting. He'd look back at Zell, once again nonchalantly squeezing their held hands together.]

Doctor's taking their sweet time. It's not like they have a lot of patients here. You were the talk of the Garden for a few days here. I didn't believe any of them. Figured I'd wait for you instead.

People were talking about me? [There is a small frown on his face as he looked up at Seifer.] What were they saying?

[Seifer gave a small shrug.] Just a lot of stupid rumours. Shit like "You were suddenly sent on a mission." "I wonder how he's doing." "He left for a mission personally requested from the Commander." "I wonder what the Commander's having him do." It's nothing necessarily bad, until yesterday. That's when rumours started that you might have been injured. A lot of bastards liked using that word for some reason.

[He shook his head in slight annoyance.] Not that it matters now. You're back. And... well... [Seifer had this look on his face as if he was examining the other blond.] Mostly in one piece.

I am in one piece. Just a little banged up. [Zell gave him a look and he opened his mouth to continue on when the doctor and nurse came in. They shooed Seifer out of the room so they could have a once over with Zell to make sure they were willing to let him leave the hospital wing.]

[Seifer made a slight face at the attending doctor and nurse to check on Zell as he was shooed away.] I'll be in the waiting room.

[Feeling slightly restless, Seifer sat at the nearest chair. He was thankful that there were no students here at the moment. Otherwise, it was likely that he'd be questioned about all of this. Or so he thought. He took his phone out and just started scrolling through some random shit like Weapons Monthly and Timber Maniacs.]

[Seifer didn’t have too much of a long wait as the doctor checked on Zell and how he was healing. Some bandages came off because the elixir was doing its job on the tattoo blonde. His arm stayed in a sling and soon he was being rolled out into the waiting room in a wheelchair.]

I’m assuming Mr. Almasy here is going to be taking you back to your room? [The nurse spoke as she came near Seifer Zell in his chair.]

Yep. He lost the bet and is stuck with me now.

[Seifer responded with a smirk and shook his head. As soon as Zell was visible, he stood up.]

If I recall correctly Mister Dincht, you were the one who lost a bet. [His voice then became more playful but snarky.] I am just here out of the goodness of my heart.

[To drive the fact that he was serious, he snickered at the end of that statement.]

Looks like I'm gonna have to wheel you to your dorm. [He'd then look over to the nurse attending to his discharge.] I assume he's not to do anything strenuous? For how long?

Two days. He needs to let the elixir do its job and he needs to rest for that. [The nurse gave them both a very serious look.]

Oh are you now? I am so very honored. [Zell snorted softly and shook his head.] Come push me away, Almasy, before I try and walk and get stuck here for those two days.

Two days. Got it. [Seifer nodded at the nurse before getting behind the wheelchair Zell was on.] If he somehow defies doctors' orders, I'll let you know. [Then off they both go towards the dormitories.]

[As Seifer pushed the wheelchair Zell was on, he momentarily looked out at the nearest window and saw that the sun had fully set. Due to this visit, he likely missed a class but that didn't matter right now. They headed towards the dormitories. As they passed by people, he could tell they were getting "looks."]

You see that? People are staring while I push you onto this wheelchair. These assholes are gonna have something new to talk about. You getting injured will no longer matter. It's the fact that I'm taking you to your dorm. Well... it's more like you're on a wheelchair, I'm pushing it, and you're not yelling at me and I'm not pissing you off.

[For some reason, Seifer was quite amused with all of this. Before, he would have never done something like this. Now, people are giving both him and Zell looks ranging from "wtf is going on here" to "Seifer being nice" to "is there something going on with those two? I thought they hated each other".]

So much for keeping a low profile. [Zell wanted to look around, look at the people gossiping about them, but he kept his head forward even as he slumped a little, tired and worn out already.] Maybe this was a bad idea.

[Seifer shook his head as they finally approached the dormitories, not even missing a beat as he continued to head towards Zell's place.]

What, spending time with you is a bad idea? I'm telling you. I have a gunblade and I'm not afraid to use it. Besides... if I have to get Fujin and Raijin to make sure people back off, they can. People are fickle, anyway. Give it a few days, they'll likely forget about this.

[Before long, they'd arrive at the SeeD dorms and it was easy enough to find Zell's. Seifer looked at the door, then looked at Zell.]

If you still think this is a bad idea, then I'll back off and go back to my place.

I don’t think it is a bad idea but my friends will. [Zell didn’t care what the general populace thought of him. Okay maybe he did a little bit. But he did care what his friends thought and they would not approve of Seifer.]

You are staying. You promised the nurse you would watch over me the next two days.

Weren't you the one saying that your friends are not your keepers? Even if your friends don't like who you're hanging out with or what decisions you make, they'd be your friends anyway and support you. The same way that Fujin and Raijin always did even though I was doing terrible shit. [Seifer sighed a little bit, then shook his head..]

Alright alright, I'll watch over you the next two days. You'll need to unlock the door, though. [Seifer took a hand off of one of the handles and instead placed it on one of Zell's shoulders, gently massaging it.]

I don’t know how supportive they will be. [Zell let out a breath, dug his key out of the bag that the hospital gave him that had his bloody and burnt clothing and other personal items, and unlocked the door.] I guess we will see.

And I’m sorry for the mess.

[Zell’s apartment was bigger than Seifer’s but it was indeed a mess. Not only was it very Zell but it had been a while since he cleaned up his own space.]

[Before Seifer could even answer, he pushed Zell inside his dorm and then locked the door behind him once they were in. He wasn't lying. Not only is it bigger and more spacious, it was a mess.]

Don't even worry about it. The only reason why my room's tidier in comparison is because I'm not there most of the time. [He continued to push Zell inside.] Well, where do you want me to set you down at? If you can walk alright, I'm sure the hospital will be wanting this back.

I can walk. [Zell moved slowly though as he got out of the wheelchair. His body ached but it was a healing kind of ache, not a horrible pain ache. He stretched his back slightly, careful of his wounds, before he moved further into his apartment.]

The couch I think is the place I am going to be living for the next two days.

[Once Zell get off of the wheelchair, Seifer moved it by the front door. Likely to remind himself to bring it back to the hospital once he left Zell's place. Whenever that would be.]

You sure? Knowing you, you're gonna be restless at some point and you're gonna wanna move around. At least a little bit. Still, no strenuous activity for two days.

[Then, Seifer moved on over to the couch, clearing whatever clutter was there and just placed it.... somewhere for now. If Zell was there, he'd of course sit next to him.]

Well, what do you want right now? Something to eat? Drink?

Are you really going to keep me to the whole bed rest thing? [Zell had carefully sat on the couch, groaning a little as the movement pulled at his bandages. He snorted softly.]

I’m fine. I’m happy to be out of the hospital wing. You can relax Seifer.
